Hello Star Families,

 

My name is Scott Hopper and I'm looking forward to another year as the Principal at Forrest W. Hunt Elementary.  I love being a part of the Star family and I look forward to working together to accomplish amazing things for all our students this year.

 

I am a Rutherford County native and currently live in Bostic with my family.  My wife, Kristin, and I have two wonderful children, our 11-year-old son, Evan, and our 4-year-old daughter, Emilia. I'm proud to say I've been serving Rutherford County as an educator for the last 13 years.  I began my career as a math teacher serving Chase High School and later East Rutherford High School before becoming the assistant principal at East Rutherford High School in 2016.  I am a huge fan of fantasy and science fiction novels, though I find myself constantly rereading the same ones. I am also a modern board game enthusiast and enjoy the shared experience of problem-solving in board games.

 

I am dedicated to providing the best opportunities for the students of Rutherford County and giving back to the school system and community that supported me.  I am excited to continue working within this community to encourage and prepare our students for productive futures.
